Colony High School has built a strong tradition of athletic success, highlighted by several major state championships across different sports. The Knights made history in 2022 by winning the Division I Alaska State Football Championship, earning the first football state title in school history. Colony has also seen long-term success in basketball, with the girls basketball team winning multiple Class 4A state championships, including a recent title win that marked their fifth overall state championship and first since 2008. Colony has also excelled in other sports, such as boys swimming and diving, which captured its first-ever team state championship in 2024, showing the growth of the program. Additionally, Colony’s boys Nordic ski team won the state championship in 2025, ending a long drought and continuing a tradition that included earlier titles in the late 1990s. Together, these championships highlight Colony High School’s strong athletic culture and its tradition of competitive success across multiple sports.
